Tragedy by Haze3P0 Tragedy by Haze3P0

To me, it's wrong to use a tragedy, especially like the Aurora Theater shooting, to further you're political agenda.

Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) used the shooting as a religious and anti-strict gun control problem.

"You know what really gets me, as a Christian, is to see the ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and then some senseless crazy act of a derelict takes place..."

"It does make me wonder, with all those people in the theater, was there nobody that was carrying a gun that could have stopped this guy more quickly?"

This is not a issue of religion, this is not a issue of gun control. This is a national tragedy that affects the lives of the family and friends of the victims.

My condolences to the families of the victims of that terrible act against humanity.

Using a tragedy to advance a political agenda is as old as representative government. :D  Ignoring a political agenda is the agenda of monarchial government. Causing a tragedy to advance a political agenda is SOP for an ideological dictatorship. ;)

The real problem is not guns, but rather the broken mental health care system that needs fixing.

Yeah, a lesson both democrat and republican politicians seem to have trouble with.  They just can't help themselves, I guess.

If only we could have the discussion with out the rabid pro-gun politics (it's one thing to be in favor of gun rights, it's another thing to be a dick about it and bring an AR-15 into a Denny's), and at times not immediately after the latest spree killing...*sigh*

The first part, about Christianity, was completely idiotic. The second part, the gun part, was spot on, however. If more people practiced concealed carry, then maybe this might have been cut much shorter.

I don't believe if someone was carrying a gun would've stopped the massacre. From what I've read, there was tear gas filling the room, it was probably dark because it was during the movie, and he was wearing a bullet-proof vest. In my opinion, I doubt anyone would have a good chance of stopping the massacre if they had a gun due to the circumstance, but we may never know.
